Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Bake...Say That Five Times Fast

Although this might be a tongue twister, it sure tastes amazing on your tongue! This recipe is a Pinterest find.  The ingredients are not complex at all and its all things you probably have handy in your fridge. Also, if you are on a budget, this is a perfect meal to make for your entire family. :)

Another thing to keep in mind, Pillsbury sometimes has coupons for if you buy two can get so much off. Perfect for this recipe! Check out Coupons.com, Target, Walmart, or Safeway coupons online, or check out your local Sunday paper. Keep an eye out for those coupons. Its always nice to save. :)

(Remember to keep those box tops! These sure do add up at the end of the year and they definitely help schools in your area.)

Lets start by cooking the chicken. You are going to need 2 cups of cooked chicken. That's about one larger boneless chicken breast, or two small chicken breasts.  Chop the chicken into chunks. Don't make them too big.

Heat up about a tablespoon of olive oil in a saute pan. Throw in the chicken. What I like to do is season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder and a little bit of pepper for taste. You don't have to do this. You can use whatever seasoning you want, or not at all. Be creative. :) Cook it until it starts to brown. Place the chicken on a paper towel to drain some of the oil.

While you're cooking the chicken you can also start steaming the frozen broccoli. To check to see if the broccoli is done, stick a fork in it. If it is easy to stab, it is done.

Let the broccoli cool a little bit and place it on a cutting board. Chop up the broccoli into small pieces.

Place the chicken and the broccoli into the bowl. Add the cheese and the mayo and fold it all in until the mayo is all mixed in.

Now the crescent rolls.  Put some parchment paper down a good size baking sheet. Spray it with some cooking spray.Preheat the oven to 375.

So, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The website where I got the recipe from calls this a braid instead of a bake. Reason why I changed it...I can't braid! Well...I can, but not with crescent roll dough! That stuff is frustrating. I have tried, and I have tried but it just falls apart on me! I just want to scream! So one day I had it! I fold in the ends, then I fold the sides over till its all covered. Why not! It worked the same just not so fancy. But heck it still tastes the same! So to make myself feel like less of a failure, I changed the name. And I never looked back. If you like to braid it, go right ahead ( you show-off), and if you want to do it like me, don't be ashamed. Its still going to look and taste great!

Once its all put together, take the egg yolk and brush it on top of the bake. Gives it a nice golden brown crust. Instead of rosemary to sprinkle on top, I like to ground up some Italian seasoning instead. I like the flavor of it better than just plain rosemary. Place it in the oven for 28-30 minutes.

When the outside looks nice and golden brown, its time to take it out. Before the bake starts to cool, I like to sprinkle some shredded cheese on to, because I can!

Now eat up! In my experiences with these, they don't last very long! They are gone in an instant! Enjoy and I hope you guys have a fantastic dinner. :)
